Udwarthana

This is a deep scrub and massage performed on the entire body with a mixture of chickpea flour and medicinal plants. This massage is intended for people of Kapha constitution.

The movements are performed against the direction of hair growth. This allows the pores to open and therefore better absorption of the active ingredients of the powder. They are directed toward the heart in order to eliminate lymphatic toxins from the body.
