rejuvenating and rebalancing stay

Ayurvedic retreat at the Marie de Bourgogne holistic spa (with full-board dining at the LunchBox restaurant) at Le Cep: a rejuvenating and rebalancing stay.

As the end of August—and my vacation—approached, I was in dire need of rejuvenation and centering before an upcoming surgery and my return to work.

In my search, I discovered the Ayurvedic center established within the Ste Marie holistic spa at the luxury hotel Le Cep. I was already familiar with the hotel and spa, and—relying on fond memories—I contacted the Ayurvedic center late one afternoon.

Mandabi, the spa manager and Ayurvedic consultant, responded and handled my request with a level of care I hadn't even dared to hope for. After listening attentively and actively to my needs, she offered to get back to me. She called me back an hour later (around 7 PM) with a proposal for a tailor-made retreat that we would fine-tune the following day—my arrival day. I later learned that she had moved heaven and earth to find openings in the treatment, spa, and hotel schedules.

I thus spent five days on an Ayurvedic retreat, staying at Le Cep and having my meals—an integral part of the program—at the LunchBox restaurant.

As for treatments, I was looked after by the entire spa and Ayurvedic center team (including Neil, Jerry, and Orianne) under Mandabi’s guidance. I enjoyed a rich yet balanced program tailored to my needs—determined during an initial consultation—that alternated between yoga, Ayurvedic treatments (various massages using oil blended specifically for me), spa activities (sauna, steam room, sensory shower), consultations, and high-tech treatments.

I was impressed by the quality of the treatments, the level of care, and everyone's friendliness, as well as the flow management: throughout my stay, I felt like the sole focus of attention, even though the facility was bustling.

Regarding meals, I enjoyed the excellent buffet breakfast at Le Cep, served until noon! This is incredibly convenient when you’re on a wellness retreat with morning activities scheduled; personally, I can't imagine doing yoga on a full stomach!

For dinner, I appreciated the Indian vegetarian meals from the "LunchBox" restaurant, prepared especially for me. I enjoyed them so much that I even went back to LunchBox for lunch outside of my retreat schedule.

As for accommodation, I was upgraded to a "1er Cru" room—the room categories mirror Burgundy wine classifications ;). The room was incredibly spacious and comfortable, and even included a kitchenette. Mine overlooked a small interior courtyard; it was very quiet, aside from neighbors who seemed to think slamming the door was the only way to close it!

And then, because "you have to treat yourself," Mandabi suggested—and gave the green light for—me to take some time to enjoy some wine, and she even arranged the initial introduction to the sommelier. I booked a tasting session at the Caveau St. Félix with Sébastien, Le Cep’s sommelier. It was extraordinary. He gave me a quick historical tour of the hotel courtyards on our way to the wine cellar, introduced me to the brand-new cigar tasting area, and then showed me the cellar itself. He then shared his passion with me, guiding me through the discovery of various Burgundy wines and the work of the winemakers. I was able to taste different appellations—some more prestigious than others, but all excellent. It was a wonderful encounter—both with the man himself and the wines he is so passionate about—and he devoted far more time to it than originally scheduled; for that, I thank him again.

My stay at Le Cep and the Ayurvedic treatment program at the Ste Marie de Bourgogne holistic spa were exceptional—surpassing all my expectations. Everything was outstanding: the quality of the treatments and care; the kindness, friendliness, and empathy of the entire staff; the private experiences (such as the tasting and the spa’s H2O area); and the excellent management of guest flow within the spa.

Beyond the sheer enjoyment and appreciation, I came away feeling deeply rejuvenated and centered. Thank you all; I will certainly be back with pleasure.

PS: @JCB, you have a truly beautiful establishment and a magnificent team.

A miracle

We had previously undergone an Ayurvedic treatment in Kerala, India, that completely transformed us physically!

Unable to return there due to Covid, we discovered that this type of treatment was now available in Beaune—the ultimate gastronomic city; talk about a surprise!

But what a wonderful surprise it turned out to be!

An extraordinarily motivated medical team from Kerala, delivering massages of a higher caliber than any we had experienced before!

The food was incredibly healthy and delicious!! (The owner is so motivated that he's soon opening an Ayurvedic restaurant in his magnificent hotel!!!)

For a week, we stayed in a beautiful suite and received personalized treatments: morning yoga (for the first time in my life), meals served by the fireplace, and visits to the beautiful city of Beaune and the surrounding vineyards.

The results exceeded my expectations: weight loss, and my blood sugar dropped from 1.4 to 1g (something I had never achieved before).

A lasting feeling of well-being!!!

Honestly, a fantastic success!

You can also use a spa with highly technical wine-based products that we didn't try.

And the spa team is incredibly kind and motivated!!!

Proof that you can successfully combine luxury Ayurvedic treatments with a wine city!!!

Well done and thank you again! I'm already looking forward to our next stay at this hotel.

An exceptional Ayurvedic experience at Le Cep!

We enjoyed a truly blissful experience at the Hôtel Le Cep in Beaune. From the moment we arrived, the manager, Monsieur Bernard, extended a welcome that was as warm as it was elegant. You instantly feel right at home—but with a five-star touch!

The Ayurvedic treatment is led by Mandabi, a wonderfully gentle and kind soul. She cares for you with exceptional attentiveness, making you feel like a guest of honor. Every detail is designed for comfort, respecting each individual’s pace and fostering harmony between body and mind.

A huge thank you also goes to Adrien, the bar and wine manager: the embodiment of kindness—helpful and always smiling—even though, given our wellness regimen, we didn’t sample his cellar (too much).

And it is impossible not to mention the vegetarian restaurant Lunchbox and its chef, Yacin, where every dish is a delicious surprise. Fresh, healthy, and flavorful—proof that vegetarian cuisine can truly delight the taste buds!

The entire staff is remarkably kind and always attentive. A passionate team in a magnificent setting that is perfect for recharging.

Even our dog was welcomed with the same level of care!

Thank you for this magical getaway. We will certainly be back.
